One Room Challenge Week 1 – Living Room Design

Carrie Corson Design is participating in a semi-annual online interior design challenge.  Linda at Calling It Home hosts a challenge sponsored by House Beautiful for interior designers and bloggers to completely re-design and transform one room in 6 weeks.  We are participating as a Guest Participant and each Thursday for 6 weeks we will be sharing our updates and progress here at Carrie Corson Design of our living room transformation.

As you can see above we have a fun design plan for the space planned.  We’ll be updating some furniture pieces, adding a rug, ottoman, side table and hopefully window treatments as well if our time and budget allow!

You can see here what our living room looks like currently.  We are in need of some refreshening.  We desperately need some more comfortable seating.  Our living room is truly lived in and has to remain functional for our family.  It has kind of turned into a play room for our little one for now, so we are also in need of some storage to put some of the toys away.  We need a more comfortable rug for the space.  Our last rug was victim to our dog and we unfortunately had to throw it out recently.  We also recently removed our wood coffee table with metal legs, it just wasn’t very kid friendly as our little one learns to walk and pull himself up on everything .  So we are going for something a bit softer for the space.
